| CBIS |
CBIS stands for computer-based information systems and is an organized integration of hardware and software technologies and the human factor.
In an organization, when we store data on a computer using special software called CBIS. The organization has different departments, and every department is attached to others with the help of a Computer Based Information System (CBIS) to get the data if needed. Hence, the combination of hardware, software, and people operating a computer system is called a computer-based information system (CBIS).
Computer-Based Information systems (CBIS) store all data in one place in a database. The data accumulated by the database is correct. The main objective of this method is to provide work, support leadership, and helps in decision-making. It is also known as ICT (Information and Communication Technology). With the help of ICT, people not only connect but also support businesses.

Information System (IS)
An information system is the combination of two words information and system.
- Information. The organized form of data is known as information. When data is processed resultantly, a particular output is received, called information.
- System. It is a set of components combined to fulfill a task for a specific purpose called a system. This system includes people, software & hardware. When they work jointly, they create a system. In an organization, when peoples work on a computer system through specific software is called a system.
What is meant by Information System?
An information system is an organized combination of personnel, hardware, software, communication networks, and data resources that collect, transform, and disseminate information in an organization.
The entire process of collecting information/data and delivering it to people is called an information system, and getting information through a computer is called a computer-based information system (CBIS).

6 Basic Components of CBIS (Computer Based Information System)
| Components of CBIS |
The following are the six components of CBIS (Computer based information System):-
1. Hardware
It is the most essential component of a CBIS (Computer Based Information System). In a CBIS, we need hardware to transfer data, like a computer or a phone. The computer's physical components that we can see and touch are called hardware. Example: Monitor, Keyboard, Processor, Mouse, Printer, etc.
2. Software
It is an essential component of CBIS (Computer-Based Information systems), which are different programs. The software enables the hardware to process the data. We cannot process the data without software. Example: Windows, MS Word, MS Excell, etc.
3. Task / DataBase
An information technology database is a component that makes it easier to organize files, folders, and tables by putting them in one place. People can access the particular information they want very quickly.
4. Procedure
The procedure is another essential component of the CBIS (Computer Based Information System). Every organization has a different way of doing things. The problem was resolved by carrying out the appropriate action. A person can't do something without following a procedure, it helps to complete organizational projects. The working criteria in an organization are procedures.
5. People
The fundamental components of a CBIS (Computer-Based Information system) are people, which influence the success and failure of information systems. The people design and employ software, feed input data, build hardware, write procedures, and determine success or failure. In CBIS, people share information, work together and help the business to run smoothly.
6. Network
The last component of a CBIS (Computer-Based Information system), is a connection between two or more computers. The network is also necessary to connect one computer. For the work of information and communication technology, the network is essential. Without a network, people cannot communicate with each other. The types of networks are LAN, WAN, etc.
Conclusion
CBIS refers to a computer-based information system. In an organization, we use specialized software to store data on a computer. This software is called CBIS. The combination of hardware, software, and people who operate a computer system is called a computer-based information system. There are 6x essential components of CBIS (Computer based information system), Hardware, Software, Data Base, Procedure, People, and Network.
